Academic Support

Students who need additional help in reading and/or math are assigned to support classes during Prime Time.

Students on an IEP or those who qualify for LAP assistance are given additional support with a Para educator in their language arts and math classes. The counselors will set up conferences to help parents and students meet with the teachers and develop a plan that might include such support as: SOAR (study skills, time management, organization, and academic resources); encouragement to stay after school for the Homework Club from 3:00 – 4:20 twice a week.

All students who need help with academic progress are offered opportunities to work with teachers during the monthly WECARE days. This 1 ½ - 2 hour time allows the students to work on missing assignments, make up tests, and get additional time with their teacher to clarify projects, etc.
